The Cloud-Top Margarita

This is the quintessential "gold standard" margarita: a clean, sharp, and refreshing citrus-forward cocktail with a perfectly balanced salty finish.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz Blanco Tequila
  • 1 oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • ¾ oz Cointreau or high-quality Triple Sec
  • Rim Coarse Sea Salt
  • Garnish A fresh lime wedge

Method
 

  1. Prep the Glass: Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass and dip it into a small plate of coarse sea salt to create an even coating. Fill the glass with fresh ice.
    Combine: Add the tequila, lime juice, Cointreau, and agave syrup into a cocktail shaker.
    Shake: Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the outside of the tin feels frost-cold.
    Strain: Double-strain (to ensure no ice shards or pulp remain) into your salt-rimmed glass.
    Finish: Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim.
